Vodafone Events Centre

The Vodafone Events Centre (formerly TelstraClear Pacific Events Centre) is one of most iconic event venues in Auckland.  Its BNZ Theatre provides a high-quality theatre suitable for orchestral performance for up to 700 audience.  More significantly, the Sir Woolf Fisher Arena provides a multi-purpose indoor facility with 1,800 square meters of open floor space to accommodate up to 3,000 attendees.

During the development of the project site, Gaia Engineers was engaged by the client Counties Manukau Pacific Trust in 2003 for the civil and geotechnical design of the 20 hectares site including building foundation, earthwork, pavement, stream diversion and stormwater drainage design.  Nigel Mark-Brown of Environmental Context Ltd was engaged by Gaia as its subconsultant for environmental and stormwater design.  The centre was successfully opened to the public in 2006.

After the completion in 2006, Gaia Engineers had been retained by the client for concept design of various options for the development of the remaining site.

Gaia Engineers was also engaged by the client in 2014 for the Vodafone Events Centre Extension project and the Vector WERO Whitewater Park project.
